Hey Career Hackers!

Welcome to this week’s edition of The Weekly 6, where I go into 6 things I’m pumped on this week.

It’s a lovely morning as I write this hanging in Seattle, Washington, sipping my morning SUTRA, and expressing gratitude for the work I get to do day in and day out. Be sure to check out my Insta Story to see more!

Career Hack of the week

LinkedIn video has been a really great way to build a brand and get engagement recently. If you haven’t tried it, you can post any video less than 9 minutes directly to your LinkedIn feed. I caption my videos using Fiverr as it really ups the engagement because people can watch and get the value without having the sound on.

The key is to accompany the post with a bullet pointed write up and then post and links in the first comment. If you post the link in the update itself, LinkedIn might flag it and downgrade it. Make sure to tag people in comments and not the update itself as well.

Quote I’m Pondering

“If I had asked people what they wanted they would’ve said faster horses.” – Henry Ford

Love this quote because it ages so well. As tech evolves and becomes accessible, people always think that it’s the best it’s going to get. But it keeps going, faster and faster as time moves forward.

I look at companies I advise and how they’re selling, and the number one objection is that people “are good” with what they have. It’s my job to help them relay the message that the world is evolving and they ought to keep up or become Blockbuster.

Where I’m Going This Week

Cabo! What should we do and see? I haven’t been back in a few years.

It’ll be part party and part relaxing. Make sure to follow along on Instagram!

Something New I’m Trying

Waking up at 5am. Yes, I know. For most people it sounds crazy, but since I’m on the West Coast I want to see if I can become a really early morning person. It would be great if I could work out by 7am and get my day started with the East Coast. I also think there’s something to waking up and going to sleep with the sun like they did in ancient times.

Has anyone else done this? Would love your advice!

Product I’m Loving

Anker Dual Port PowerIQ Wall Charger and Anker Power Line to charge my phone and iPad Mini in less time when on the road. I have two Apple Smart Cases too, but I don’t like waiting and I’m always on the go, so making sure I get the most juice in the least amount of time is as necessary as it gets for me. Anker does the trick!

Books, Courses, Podcasts, or Educational Resources of the week

Really anything on Udemy, but my buddy put together this awesome Financial Planning Course for those looking to purchase their first home.  I highly recommend it and found it useful when I was looking into relocating permanently to Miami.

And as always, please let me know your requests and suggestions on Instagram. What do you want more or less of? Let me know. Just send a Insta message to @hackitmax and put #TheWeekly6 in there so I can find it. See here for past Weekly 6 Editions.
